Mela Local Cooking is a cooking experience located in Mae Sapok village, which was created to represent our local food and culture through fun activities with traditional/local tools and local people 👵🏼
Here, you will get to learn how to make rice by using a traditional rice mill and winnowing them, and also will have fun cooking Thai food by a fire stove. Plus, we will also prepare our yummy local food for you to try 🥘🌶🥦

What is Mela?
Mela
Mela means rice tray in Karen language.
In the old days, people would put all rice and food on Mela, and eat them together with their family. That was also a chat time between parents and their children. So these days Mela is a symbol of being family and usually brings back a memory of those good old days to many people when they see one.
Activities at Mela Local Cooking
