Tattoo Aftercare & Healing Tattoo

Tattoo aftercare might not sound easy but actually it's not that hard.

Even though I said it's not that hard, still you'd better not let your guard down and take care your fresh tattoo (essentially for the first few days).

Here are tattoo aftercare guidelines and how the healing process look like.

After your tattoo is finished, we will apply special tattoo film on, which is waterproof and breathable, in order to keep your tattoo well-protected. It also makes your trip easier when you're traveling 😉

When the tattoo film is still on

It's normal to see a bit of ink/blood underneath the film.

Showering with the film on is fine but do not soak the tattoo area in water.

Keep the tattoo film for 1-3 days (if there is too much of sweat or liquid underneath OR you feel irritated, gently remove the film). ** Here in Thailand, I feel like 1-2 days is enough since it's quite hot BUT if you still feel good or still travel, maybe 3 days.

After removing the tattoo film

Tip: removing the film after shower is easier if the film sticks quite firmly

Gently clean your tattoo with lukewarm water or Saline water

Showering is fine but No soap and No soaking on the new tattoo

Once it's getting dry (normally from around day 4-5), slightly apply some moisturizer on

Don't scratch or pick up the healing skin

Try to have the tattoo covered when have it exposed to the sunlight but NO sunscreen yet while the tattoo is still healing

Avoid swimming, sweaty exercise or stretch your tattoo area too much

After around 2 weeks, your tattoo should be completely healed. But still, keeping it moisturized and not exposing it to the sun too much will help keeping your tattoo look fresh
